terrific choice for my purposes
I am very happy I went with the AspireRevo as a main computer for my uses. I am tired of things too big and too heavy. I bought an external CD/DVD drive so I am in business for what I need to use a computer for. I also bought an eSATA hard drive enclosure to put a 320 GB SATA drive from my desktop I moved down the basement to use on the AspireRevo. I am thoroughly happy with it and it boots so fast after moving 1 GB of ram to it from another computer, that I can turn it on just a couple of minutes before I am ready to use it which means I also shut it off when I will be away from it for an hour or more. Helping me to save even more energy. Way better than the Vista machine I moved down the basement.

Great computer - No good for boxee
I love this little PC (with 2GB of memory). It is nearly silent, very cheap to run and can more or less be left on all the time.

I recently discovered boxee. This PC can't render HD video fast enough for boxee. Try watching the Glee season finale on it from the Fox website and you'll see a jerky picture.

Shame but nice nevertheless.

Great performance and size for price
Very well priced. Additional 1 GB RAM module highly recommended. Works perfectly with Boxee installed and connected to your LCD. I should've bought the version with wireless keyboards/mouse. I've replaced my ASUS OPlay with this much more versatile alternative.

HORRIBLE support from ACER
Buyer beware. The support you get from ACER is minimum to none. They require you to call a toll free number and pay $59.00 for 30 minutes, just to find out what memory card is installed in the pc. I have owned mine for two days and after 3 tech calls and 4 emails, I have yet to find out the total description for the memory card installed. I know it is a 1gb and is up-gradeable to 4gb, but can't find out if its a 200 pin or 240 pin, don't know if its a pc2-6400 or pc2-5600. I have researched it and found two different recommendations.
If you call the tech number on the enclosed packet, you get no help. They refer you to the pay for tech help line. If you email tech support you get the standard: We're so sorry but call this number, and they give you the paid support #. They are a joke.
Otherwise, I like the pc. I tested the wattage and it only uses 24 watts which is what I want for my mountain cabin. It is very slow, so I wanted to increase the memory, but so far can't.
I have owned all the top brands of pc's, HP, DELL, GATEWAY, & LENOVO. Never have I encountered such HORRIBLE support. There is no paperwork with the pc to tell you what is in the pc, you go their website and it is not even in their drop down window, you talk to their tech's and they act as if they never heard of a Revo 1600. If you access system info on the pc, it just tells you how much memory is in the pc but now what kind.
I will continue to try to upgrade the memory, but If I don't find out soon, I will be returning it to Amazon. Never again will I ever buy a ACER. So please be aware of their support. Also, my first tech call was to find out the best way to input software since there's no disc tray. I want to install printer software, etc. The first tech said to just put my disc in the disc compartment and load it. I had to explain to him there is only a memory card slot and USB ports. AND, all their support is in INDIA. Except for the PAID support. I am not casting blame on Amazon. They are not responsible for ACER SUPPORT or I should say NON-SUPPORT. Thx for listening. I just changed my stars from 4 to 1. Acer just sent me a email saying the max memory is 1gb. Can you believe them. There's at least 6 reviews here that state they upgraded their memory to 2gb and one to 3gb. I just want to add one more. I see Amazon has one that I can purchase. No thanks to ACER. They stink.
