Bad Power Supply - Bad Customer Service!
I don't normally write product reviews, but I do read them almost every time I make an online purchase, so I figure it's only fair that I let everyone know when I have a bad experience. My power supply went out after about 4 months of use. I was first informed by Asus that the PS only has a 6 month warranty on it, which is BS! I jumped through the ridiculous hoops that they require, like faxing credit card documents and after several phone calls to check on it, they either cannot tell me the status of the replacement and tell me to call back later or give me some other lame excuse why i don't have my replacement power supply yet. I give up; I just bought a 3rd party power supply from Amazon for $25. It has a lifetime warranty. Asus, you win for now! But I hope that this and all the other negative reviews here cost you a bunch of sales. Done with that crap... If I could go back, I'd heed all the warnings about this problem and buy a different brand.

Poor Customer Service.
The thing broke the first week I had it. Worse yet, they actually made me pay the shipping to return it. When I protested they said it was non-negotiable. Needless to say I was annoyed. Asus needs to work on their customer service. Oh yea, and it would be nice if the computer lasted longer than a week too.

Awesome!
It is an awesome netbook I recommend it to anyone who needs to use it for school, to check the email messages, do simple tasks, taking notes. I am actually using it right now. Happy Shopping.

Good for general purpose but not good for streaming
This is good and possibly a nice product for a school kid. For professionals, it is not good because you can't do some basic stuffs like remote login using SSH, youtube streming etc.

Asus -- I Returned Mine After Five Days
I really loved this little Asus netbook for the first 3 days. I can't begin to describe the problems, but it finally crashed and I kept getting a message that told me "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vgaoem.fon. You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM". Okay... first of all, I only got a support CD, not a Setup CD with the netbook. Second, there is no internal CD drive anyway so it was all useless. I emailed Asus Support but didn't hear back from them. I gave up after a couple of days because I was ready to leave town. Fortunately Amazon, as always, immediately agreed to give me a full refund (I returned the Asus Eee PC) so that I could go out to a retail store and buy a Toshiba NB305 netbook in time for my vacation... and it works very well. BTW, three weeks later I finally got the instructions from Asus Support which might have enabled me to restart the first netbook using the F9 key at Start-up. Not much help at that point, though. I still heartily recommend buying at Amazon -- it is wonderful about refunds or replacing defective products and ensuring customer satisfaction. Too bad Asus isn't as concerned.
